Welcome to Marietta’s House: a Grandmother's Cottage. Step through the wisteria arbor into the past ... porcelain oil lamps, lace curtains, brass beds, family portraits with stories to tell ... and the Mississippi River always next door. Tyburski's pictures will artfully expose the details for you, while Bourgoyne's moving stories bring Marietta and generations of his family back to life.

The book has a Foreword, a Preface, and an Epilogue. The body has 125 photographs, each with a facing page that describes the histories and personal details. Excerpts from three pages from the body are included here.

Text by J. E. Bourgoyne, photography by J. G. Tyburski.
ISBN 978-0-9616377-5-0; hard cover, 272 pp.

Reviews

“Fond memories of places we call home, though universal, are individually perceived. In Marietta’s House, J.E. Bourgoyne’s words and J.G. Tyburski’s photographs bring the idea of ‘home’ to life. Bourgoyne’s heartfelt observations of a family home place, while personal and particular, resonate with all who have had the opportunity to spend extended periods of time with a loved relative, to be nourished by comfort food, and to enjoy the warmth of familiar surroundings. The walls of Marietta’s house can’t really talk, but with this book as their medium, still have plenty to say.” – John H. Lawrence, author, Creole Houses
